[SOLVED] Upgrade (glibc and mono?) breaks some unity steam games

Sometimes between 6 days ago and today a lot of steam games stopped working. There seems to be two kinds of problems, but since they happened at the same time, and both concern unity games that use libmono, i figured they were probably related. It also may be two different issues.

First problem: mouse and keyboard don't work in some games (namely in my library: Streets of Rogue and Zombie Night Terror). This is (temporarily at least) solved by the fix proposed here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/512900/d … 043105381/
The strange thing is that the problem described in the above link (which also seems related to this: https://ctrl.blog/entry/glibc225-unity-black-screen) were supposed to happen after the upgrade of glibc (march 3rd on arch) and both games worked perfectly until this week. This is also confirmed by fellow arch users here: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/c … reen_with/
There is no error when starting the game from terminal.

Now the only upgrade in the last week that seems to be related in the upgrade of mono; i figured that the problem was in fact due the upgrade of both glibc and mono. However the fix proposed in the above link and here : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions … 175605892/ (with the right path to the lib, of course), does not work.

Now the second issue is with other (unity) games that do not start at all (and worked fine until this week). Namely: shadowrun - dragonfall, no time to explain, the last station. The above fix (i.e., this one: https://steamcommunity.com/app/512900/d … 043105381/
) does not work. No error when starting from terminal, both with steam-runtime and steam-native.

Downgrading mono does not solve the issue.  I also tried downgrading a few other packages that were upgraded this week, like intel-ucode, but no luck either.

Probably a lot of other games are concerned, so if someone else has similar issues, he should probably post the names of the games here so we can keep a list updated.
I have no idea how to fix this. This also might be specific to arch, as i found no post regarding this issue.

Re: [SOLVED] Upgrade (glibc and mono?) breaks some unity steam games

A forced reinstall of some packages seems to have fixed the issue for the games not starting; maybe there was also an update on steam. However the first issue is still there, but the work around from:  https://steamcommunity.com/app/512900/d … 043105381/ seems to fix it.
I'm changing the thread as solved.
