ACPI breaks on resume from suspend

Hi there!
I've got a very old laptop Toshiba Sattelite L40-14G and despite the fact that some say that Linux runs perfectly on old hardware I've got an unsolvable (so far) issue.
If I resume the laptop from suspend it to RAM using (put by either systemd or pm-utils) ACPI doesn't see LID state change.

cat /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state

remains always "open".
I've already updated BIOS to the latest available version. Is there any way to restart ACPI (or something else to have LID reading state working again, I'm not familiar with it) on resume from suspend?
I've failed to find any resume hooks that are being executed.

Resume from hibernation (suspend to disk) works fine btw, so it would be useful to understand what hooks are being executed on resume from suspend to disk to copy them. Moreover if I try to suspend to disk after suspend to ram, ACPI start seeing LID state change, but the laptop doesn't go to sleep on LID close though.

Any help or ideas would be highly appreciated!

Edit: incorrect info

Re: ACPI breaks on resume from suspend

I've found that "button" kernel module is responsible for LID state but trying to reload it returns this:

sansan@tosh:~$ sudo modprobe -r button
modprobe: FATAL: Module button is in use.
sansan@tosh:~$ sudo rmmod -f button
rmmod: ERROR: could not remove 'button': Resource temporarily unavailable
rmmod: ERROR: could not remove module button: Resource temporarily unavailable

Re: ACPI breaks on resume from suspend

Trying to create a resume hook containing this:

[Unit]
Description=Local system resume actions
After=suspend.target

[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/usr/bin/rmmod button && /usr/bin/modprobe button

[Install]
WantedBy=suspend.target

returns this:

May 17 18:55:23 tosh systemd[1]: root-resume.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.

It's obvios that syntax of ExecStart is wrong as rmmod consider every single word as a module, but the main issue is "button" module is being held by i915 and I get the same result trying to unload it from terminal.
