Laptop nVidia 1050Ti and bumblebee.

Hello, I've had hybrid graphics for a couple of years and I've never had any trouble. Just followed the wiki and everything was working after a few reboots.
I got a new laptop now, but I haven't been able to make it work. All the time I get this error message: (EE) NVIDIA(GPU-0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.
This error I get using nvidia driver. Tried with nvidia-340xx but couldn't even get to login screen. I was told nvidia-340 is too old for my graphic card anyways

I've already added rcutree.rcu_idle_gp_delay=1 to kernel parameters.

Here's Xorg.8.log

I see there's no *rcutree.rcu_idle_gp_delay=1* on the Kernel command line, not sure if that might have something to do with the problem I'm having.

I can add any information you ask for, sorry I can't provide more now, is I don't know what other info might be relevant.

Thank you.

demencia.

I came across this https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/53281 reading similar threads on the forum. Do you think it can solve my problem? Can you point me somewhere I can learn how to do "ecompiling the Arch kernel with that flag set and then adding the boot parameter acpi_rev_override=1 fixes the issue and bbswitch works as expected."

Re: Laptop nVidia 1050Ti and bumblebee.

this suggests that downgrading either nvidia or the kernel will fix it. if that's the case, you can try to rebuild nvidia with the ABS and see if that will resolve the problem, it has for me in the past with video driver issues. I don't run bumblebee, just straight nvidia, so I don't know for sure if it will help you, but considering how simple it is to use the ABS it's worth a try

I just tried reinstalling nvidia pkg using abs, rebooted, and tried again but I get the same error.
Can I rebuild the kernel with CONFIG_ACPI_REV_OVERRIDE_POSSIBLE using adb?

Re: Laptop nVidia 1050Ti and bumblebee.

did you run into any errors when building? it seems like when you built nvidia you should get errors if it wasn't going to work

Not that I noticed yesterday while doing it. It built and then I run pacman -U nvidia-restofthefilename.  Today I'll do it again and check for any errors/warnings while building again.

Thank you for your help smile

No error or warning at all. Here's the details.

Re: Laptop nVidia 1050Ti and bumblebee.

I downgraded kernel and nvidia driver to 375.26. Didn't get the error anymore, but optirun glxspheres64 or optirun steam would do nothing and no output on terminal. The whole system was acting weird after downgrading so I updated everything again and got back to the first error. I guess the 1050Ti and bumblebee are not working in archlinux right now. I can provide any files, logs and details needed to get this working.

I get the exact same problem with an Asus UX32VD and an Nvidia GTX620M Card. Trying to ascertain the point where the problem started.
Hope for now that linux 4.4 works again with it.
