Hello: today, after upgrading linux to 4.11.2-1 on my thinkpad, upon reboot I found these two new errors in my system journal
kernel: sed_opal:OPAL: Error on step function: 0 with error 8194: Unknown Error
kernel: iwlwifi 0000:04:00.0: capa flags index 3 larger than supported by driver
are these well-known? is there a way to fix them, or should I open a bug somewhere?

The first should be getting reduced in logging level with 4.12 see https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … 1789687845
Edit:
For the second nothing obvious to me in https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … ?h=v4.11.2
Have you checked if the firmware used by iwlwifi changed when the firmware package was updated along with the kernel?

I did a quick test of 4.11 and I didn't see the first error message, but I have an interest in SEDs and now that some functionality to deal with them is in the kernel I'm curious, do you have a "normal" sata sed or is it an nvme sed?
Regarding the second error, I also saw that. The wireless card I have is: "Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 Plus Bluetooth [8086:3166] (rev 99)". I haven't tested it very thoroughly but everything seemed to be working so that is most probably an harmless error.

I have a nvme ssd.

Actually, there's also a third type of error that I didn't notice:
kernel: wlp4s0: failed to remove key (1, ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff) from hardware (-22)
does anyone know about it?

@nicolo
That is related to the wifi card (intel card I'd assume) and is most probably harmless.

@op - Found this on a google... I too have an nvme ssd and see that error in dmsg. The wifi error is likely unrelated. My chipset is older than yours (Z97) with a Haswell CPU.
