debootstrap and signatures

Hello!

I've just installed debootstrap package (want to prepare Debian for VM) and I am not sure how does debootstrap check for package signatures? There is optional dependency debian-archive-keyring, but it is virtual package and can not be installed - what does it mean?

Thanks.

Re: debootstrap and signatures

So, I find the debian-archive-keyring package in AUR. I think it should be in repo with debootstrap. Why it is not?

Re: debootstrap and signatures

The same reason any package is in the AUR instead of the main repos, there isn't a developer/TU willing to maintain it.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan
