I'm running a Lenovo X1 2017, some time ago I could configure my trackpoint/trackpad without problems using xinput with libinput, now some update seems to have broken my setup.
xinput now only shows some wayland devices:
$ xinput
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ xwayland-pointer:13 id=6 [slave pointer (2)]

⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ xwayland-keyboard:13 id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]While libinput-list-devices lists everything correctly:

Because you're on (likely gone on) wayland - explicitly select gnome on xorg at login.

As seth said, see also the following blog post for details and backgrounds: http://who-t.blogspot.de/2017/05/xinput … inter.html

Yes thought that this is related to wayland somehow, but though that not sure how to configure certain stuff now (eg. two-finger scrolling with touchpad or middle-button scroll with the trackpoint - read once somewhere that this should even work out of the box when using libinput).

As stated in the blog post I linked you use the tools provided by the compositor to configure such things. In Gnome you can configure this in settings under mouse and trackpad. You can enable / disable two finger scrolling there.
No idea about "middle-button scroll with the trackpad", I don't even know what a trackpad is ![]()

Sorry I meant the trackpoint https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/TrackPoint

You're down to the config in gsettings - if that doesn't cover your needs, resort to gnome on xorg for the time being.
You cannot configure wayland input using the X11 configuration mechanisms.
