[SOLVED] Dell XPS 13 9343 (early 2015) brightness controls F11/F12...

So the wiki page for this laptop claims that these just work out of the box, but they don't. See here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De … #Backlight

At least in my case, the keys do nothing. Interestingly enough, the keyboard light button (F10) does just work.

Anyone know how to fix the F11/F12 buttons to control the brightness? I know the system is capable of controlling the brightness, as I can manually change it by executing the following as root:

echo 100 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ah, thanks. That got me pointed in the right direction and I figured it out (along with the volume controls yikes). For anyone else wondering about this, here is a great tutorial on mapping the keys (at least in i3): http://ttrmw.co.uk/linux/hardware_butto … tness.html
