I have been messing with making a custom repo and I thought that I might as well post about it. The repo contains many of the packages that I have contributed to the AUR. Here is the info that needs to be added to /etc/pacman.conf:
No longer exists
Make sure to do a pacman -Sy afterwards. Here is a list of the applications currently in my repository:
No longer exist
I mainly started my own repository because of the difficulties and work involved in compiling StepMania. I would suggest that anyone that wants to check out either version of StepMania to try the pre-built packages instead of trying to compile StepMania from source. I am not sure how long I will keep the repository maintained but it will be for at least three months.

I'm sure you have a good answer for this, but I'll ask anyway - why do you have sdl 1.2.9, when Arch current has 1.2.10? If a user has both repos enabled, with current before yours (most likely), they'll never get your package.

The sdl 1.2.9 package is there for people who might want to download the stepmania PKGBUILD and compile it from source. StepMania 3.9 will not build with sdl 1.2.10 and I have not found any patch that fixes that problem. The sdl 1.2.9 package is not needed to run anything in my repo so there is no problem with pacman not being able to get the package without specifying my repository.
On the AUR page for stepmania, I had to give instructions for compiling StepMania properly because of the problems associated with the program requiring older dependencies in order to build the package, especially ffmpeg 0.4.9-pre1; there are patches for StepMania that will allow it to compile with newer versions of ffmpeg but the result is that videos play back quickly and StepMania slows down a lot in the process. In the instructions, I included a link to an official repository that had the sdl 1.2.9 package but I figured with stepmania in my repo that it would be better to include the sdl 1.2.9 package in my repo as well.

Thanks - I knew you'd have a good answer.

I'm going to start distro hopping again so my repo will be going down tonight. I orphaned all my packages on the AUR as well.

Did you perhaps mean three weeks?
