USB Hub problems

I have a Targus 4-port USB hub that I use with my Averatec laptop.  I've recently started having isisues with it on my laptop.  During the boot process, I get the following output about it:

Jun 15 16:28:01 AVERATEC usb 1-3: device not accepting address 10, error -110

I am unable to access any devices plugged into the hub, including my HP printer which works fine when I plug it directly into a USB port on the computer, as well as my flash drive.  I've tried the hub on another computer, and it works just fine.  I'm using a custom kernel.

Re: USB Hub problems

I have the same problem trying to get my usb mp3 player (iriver ihp 120) mounted when I use the original firmware.

When using the rockbox firmware I get this problem trying to write on it:
FAT: Filesystem panic (dev sda1)
invalid access to FAT (entry 0x0025355a)
File system has been set read-only

edit: a "fsck -t vfat /mnt/sda1" solved the problem

As is true for most people I know, I've always loved learning. As is also true for most people I know, I always hated school. Why is that?

Re: USB Hub problems

I may try that, but I don't think that this is a mounting issue, since it's a hub that simply allows other devices physical access, not a device with storage within itself.  It sounds like the OS is having trouble allocating address space to the device.  The problem is, I don't know enough about how the OS handles USB devices and address mapping to understand how to fix it.
