Hi,
Been using Arch Linux for many years but confounded by this one:
Did a normal upgrade yesterday, all seemed to be fine but when I rebooted my system got stuck after the Probing EDD stage. The Probe EDD is ok, but next step doesn't happen.
I can boot with a live USB, arch-chroot, etc. Recreating the ramdisk with mkinitcpio makes no difference.
I'm using syslinux so it might be something there, although I checked the version and I don't think syslinux has been updated for a while.
Any ideas on where I could start looking to sort this out?
Thanks,
Michael

What is in the journal for the failed boot? What was upgraded (the kernel)?

Hi Jason, thanks for your help;
Kernel was upgraded, now on 4.11.2-1
Looking at journalctl for the last boot makes no sense, a whole lot of umount of /mnt entries ... But no kernel entries...
Should I try reinstalling previous kernel?

There have been quite a few threads about 4.11.2 - try downgrading or running -lts.

Awesome, that did it, at least able to boot and I'll be able to sort things out from there.
I'll hold off on kernel upgraded for a while...
Thanks for your help!
