[SOLVED] XFCE Audio change Notifications

Hello
So I have XFCE on Arch and also i3, on XFCE I always get notifications on when my bluetooth audio sink changes... How would I get those notifications to popup in i3 too?
This is what it looks like, and I have

xfce4-volumed-pulse

installed.

Thanks for any help!

Re: [SOLVED] XFCE Audio change Notifications

i3 doesn't have any built-in notification mechanism, though there are some options. You might want to look into dunst or notify-send.

Re: [SOLVED] XFCE Audio change Notifications

Another solution, since you have xfce installed already, would be to use xfce4-notifyd.

Re: [SOLVED] XFCE Audio change Notifications

svnet, I already have xfce4-notifyd installed and it seems to be working on other DE's, so I think what x33a said might be the problem, I will try that out!

Re: [SOLVED] XFCE Audio change Notifications

So I attempted to install dunst and notify-osd and they both did not solve the problem... Because I am already running xfce4-notifyd they cannot both run... I also have Budgie on my Arch install and it also gets those same notifications when and audio sink changes, and I also checked to see if xfce4-notifyd is running and it is! Any suggestions? Also sorry for the late reply...

Re: [SOLVED] XFCE Audio change Notifications

xfce4-notifyd (like the other programs mentioned here, except for notify-send) only implements the server side of the notification protocol, which is in charge of displaying the notifications. You still need to find something that watches bluetooth/audio events and sends notifications.

Re: [SOLVED] XFCE Audio change Notifications

I do have that something that watched bluetooth/audio events... I don't know what though... Can you help me out on that? I think it is caused by an XFCE package...
