Cannot run vmware anymore kernel 4.11

Hello guys,

I'm used of having issues with VMWare but this is the first time that just nothing is happening when I try to run it (after a big update of my system)

kernel: 4.11.2-1
VMWare: 12.5.6-5528349

So at first when I updated VMWare told me that I needed gcc 7.1.1 but core uses gcc 6.3.1. I found a workaround in the wiki to pass that version check so I did it and built the vmware modules.

Afterward when I run 'vmware' nothing happens...

I see nothing related to it in my logs... I also installed the 'vmware-patch' package from the AUR which solved my issues in the past but still nothing happens.

Any idea about this?

I have the same problem, for now the gcc 7.1.1 is not release in Aur Core Repository. => https://www.archlinux.org/packages/testing/i686/gcc/

I think we need waiting the official release.

Someone else can confirm ?

I tried to install gcc 7.1.1 from testing but then I got errors building the modules for vmware : (

Could you find any solution?
Cant compile either with stable gcc 7.1.1-2 and linux 4.11.3-1 (still with libpng 1.6.28-1),

this my error look like
after apply patch vmnet can compile, but still, vmmon cannot
