After the latest update Blender does not start anymore. The error that I get:
blender: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libAlembic.so: undefined symbol: H5T_STD_U16LE_g
Any thoughts?
My system:
KDE Plasma 5.9.5
Kernel: 4.11.3-1-ARCH x86_64
Graphics:
Card-1: Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller
Card-2: NVIDIA GK107M [GeForce GT 650M]
Blender version: 17:2.78.c-4
Cuda version: 8.0.61-2

I confirm. I can't open Blender either with the same error (I'm running Gnome, but I think it's not related).
Is there a way to downgrade a package with all its dependencies?

It appears that libAlembic uses hdf5, but isn't actually linked to it. This is an upstream build system problem. All of the binaries in /usr/bin are linked to hdf5, so that could mask the problem.

To expand on what Scimmia said, it is possible to run blender from the command line by forcing it to use libhdf5:
$ LD_PRELOAD="/lib/libhdf5.so /lib/libhdf5_hl.so" blender
Hopefully this is resolved quickly.

After a OS update it run now very well.
