[SOLVED] Gnome crash after system upgrade

So I did a

 pacman -Syu

two days ago and rebooted. Once back the system gave me the " Oh no! Something has gone wrong". I already tried using another login manager like lightdm. After typing in my password the same happens.

Journalctl gives me this:

Mai 25 19:18:15 Arch_Linux org.gnome.Shell.desktop[530]: gbm: failed to open any driver (search paths /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri)

Google searches gave results but no solution of course otherwise I wouldn't open a thread.

System: AMD FX 6300 and HD7850

EDIT: seems like libdrm-git was the culprit. It's now fixed mpv messages helped me lol. Journalctl didn't help at all.

Re: [SOLVED] Gnome crash after system upgrade

Hey, could you describe what exactly fixed this for you? I'm facing the same issue. Meaning, I get the ' " Oh no! Something has gone wrong"' screen and my journalctl shows the same message about amdgpu_bo_va_op_raw.

gbm: failed to open any driver (search paths /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri)
gbm: Last dlopen error: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri/radeonsi_dri.so: undefined symbol: amdgpu_bo_va_op_raw

when I upgrade from Mesa 17.0.5 to Mesa 17.1.1.

*edit*

Same issue as OP: I had libdrm-git installed from a couple months ago. I had replaced the mesa packages and llvm but not libdrm.
