I updated my system and qbittorrent no longer works. If I run it from a terminal I get this:
qbittorrent
qbittorrent: error while loading shared libraries: libtorrent-rasterbar.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryI thought that it was a bug of qbittorrent and posted in github. The maintainer kindly suggested that everything was correct, and maybe I should submit a report to Arch bug tracker. So I did it but, apparently was neither the case. Thanks to @Scimmia suggestion, it looks like qbittorrent is trying to use an old version of libtorrent-rasterbar, which is no longer in my system:

[sudo] password for david:
Nombre : libtorrent-rasterbar
Versión : 1:1.1.3-4

Name : qbittorrent

...The library required to run qbittorrent is already installed in my system:
sudo find / -name libtorrent-rasterbar.so.9
/usr/lib/libtorrent-rasterbar.so.9But not the one that it's linked to qbittorrent
sudo find / -name libtorrent-rasterbar.so.8How could I link qbittorrent for using the required library?
Thanks in advance.

You're running qbittorrent from /usr/local instead of the packaged version.

lddtree /usr/local/bin/qbittorrentWhy does it matter what the pacman-managed version of qbittorrent is, when you aren't using the pacman-managed version?
Delete the qbittorrent installation that you installed outside of pacman, and /usr/bin/qbittorrent will jump to the first resolved command in `type -a qbittorrent`. This is useful because /usr/bin/qbittorrent on your system is linked against libtorrent-rasterbar.so.9 as it should be...
EDIT: ninjaed...

@Eschwartz thanks for the fast reply.
Could it be that the reason for having a local version of qbittorrent is that I compiled it from source in the past? Now I remember that several months ago I did it due to some issues with the RSS reader from qbittorrent.
To achieve what you're suggestion should I do "sudo rm /usr/local/bin/qbittorrent" or is there a better way to do it?
Thanks in advance.

If the makefile of the source build you did contains an uninstall target use that, if not most of them are likely in the /usr/local dirs somewhere, so yeah remove those

Sounds like you should have used the qbittorrent-git package from the AUR.

That will get rid of the bad qbittorrent executable, yes, but it will leave behind a lot of clutter as well -- that isn't the only file qbittorrent installs.
As V1del said, use the `make uninstall` target of the Makefile in the directory you originally compiled qbittorrent in. Failing that, https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/lostfiles can help you track down the detritus.
