Extracting data from binary installer

How do I extract the Open Foris' Collect Earth installer? Even the software is open source they are only delivering a shitty binary (*.run) installer. It's not an Inno Setup installer and can't be extracted with 7z.

May you please help me?

Re: Extracting data from binary installer

By the looks of it, the installer is basically just a self-contained extraction program -- it will ask you where you want to "install" the files to, so just pick some temporary location.

If you're worried about the installer doing something shifty, run it in a container.

If you're trying to make a PKGBUILD for this, then the installer apparently has an unattended mode. Pass --help to the installer to list the options.

Re: Extracting data from binary installer

Ok, thanks. But the tool itself is java bullshit, so I refrain to use it.

I don't know how you missed this shit, as the link to their bullshit on github was - I shit you not - immediately below the shit installer links.
