I gave KDE Plasma a go and decided I didn't like it. I went back to Deepin, only now some of my desktop entries (/usr/share/applications/) are missing their icons. I have a look at the .desktop keys and see they now contain icons for KDE
e.g.
Icon=/usr/share/icons/default.kde4/base/48x48/status/printer-printing.pngBecause I uninstalled Plasma, of course that icon no longer exists.
So I have a whole bunch of desktop entries with missing icons and no idea what the defaults for them were -_-
Changing the icon theme makes no difference on missing icons either ![]()
If I completely remove the Icon= key, then of course the icon defaults to the currently set theme's "application-default-icon".
Is there a way to easily restore the original/default icon for all the .desktop files with an icon still pointing to KDE icons? Or am I going to have to go through each single one?
TIA!

Any changes to /usr/share/applications files should be stored in ~/.local/share/applications. Remove these per-user .desktop files to restore system defaults.
If you think that the /usr/share/applications files have been modified, check which package owns them with 'pacman -Qo', then check whether these files have been modified with 'pacman -Qkk $pkg'.
EDIT: removed 'smart'phone inserted spaces in commands

Nevermind, I found the ones with missing icons were uninstalled apps where the .desktop icons still remained. Other .desktop entries have broken icons for another reason I am yet to work out
Although I'm still not sure why some were changed in the /usr/share/applications/ directory to KDE ones.

Thanks WorMzy. There were so many that were broken that I just blitzed my ~/.local/share/applications/ directory. It's easier to customise my menu at this point by starting over than it is to edit each of the broken .desktop files.
