Ended up bricking SDDM, can't find out why

I've been troubleshooting a Plasma desktop graphics glitch for the past few days and when I installed Openbox, thinking it was KWin, but to no avail, I uninstalled Openbox again while in an Openbox KDE session and rebooted, thinking it would default back to KWin. Instead, I'm greeted by a perpetual black screen. Immediately I tried all these

- sudo rm -r /var/lib/sddm
- Removed any config and cache files I could find pertaining to Openbox and SDDM in my home folder
- systemctl status sddm - nothing amiss
- Disabling and reenabling sddm.service
- Reinstalling sddm after a complete uninstall of it
- Adding sddm to the video group
- Deleted ~/.Xauthority
- Checked my mosst recent pacman updates/installs. None of them seem to deal with video. I did install an Nvidia driver update, but the last few reboots between that and before this started were fine, so it shouldn't be that

At this point, I'm out of ideas on what to do.

Do you have an /etc/sddm.conf?  If so, what's in it?

It's the default .conf that comes with the package. I was an idiot and misplaced the .pacsave file.

According to the wiki, no /etc/sddm.conf comes with the package.  What is in your config?  I'm trying to see if it's still trying to start openbox.  Although I just reread your post and think I misunderstood.  You are still just starting KDE, but you set openbox as your WM for KDE, correct?

Re: Ended up bricking SDDM, can't find out why

OK, still looking forward to answers to my other questions.  But if it were me, I'd change the remember last session option to false: you don't want to do the same thing as last time.

Re: Ended up bricking SDDM, can't find out why

Oops, well I used openbox-kde-session, then while I was in it, uninstalled openbox.

Edit: Tried disabling remembering last session AND reinstalling Openbox for good measure. No luck
