[SOLVED] What is a getver comment in a PKGBUILD?

A number of PKGBUILDS (e.g. glide) from the official repos contain a comment that looks like this:

# getver: https://github.com/Masterminds/glide

I don't see getver mentioned in the manpage or archwiki page for PKGBUILD or makepkg, and there's not a single hit in the forums.
It seems to be a pretty common convention though.
Is there any special meaning to it?

It looks like a vim modeline, which leads me to think it is somehow "interpreted" in spite of being a comment.
