Being on i3 and downloading stuff it alway downloads to /home
How do i change the default download directory to ~/Downloads ? If it's a global setting anywhere.
Example, youtube-dl or is it possible it's application specific perhaps? I googled around a bit, but no straight answer around.
(without having to state it manually, if possible)
E: youtube-dl for example defaults to the current folder i'm in, so if i run the command from within ~/Downloads folder, it actually downloads to ~/Downloads so for that matter this thread is partly solved.

You can specify the download location for youtube-dl in its configuration file.

I have no idea if i3 has a global setting for download location, but I doubt it. That's not the kind of thing a window manager usually handles.

True. I'll mark this as solved. New to WM exclusively, and a head full of DE thinking ![]()
