xmodmap troubles? [Solved]

Anyone having problems with xmodmap seems to have stopped working  :?

did search forum wondered if it was a bug ?.....

i don't know, but i've been spending  few hours trying to get my explorer mouse's extra button working.
i followed the method provided in the wiki, even the one of gentoo wiki, but to no avail... it is really pissing me off, i can't get the back/forward buttons to work... i'm not sure if this somewhat related but i'd like to get feedback of people who achieved to get them working. i'd be grateful if they could post there xorg.conf and any xmodmap/imwheel-related stuff so i can finally have a fully working mouse...

sometimes linux drives me mad because of the way it makes simple things difficult...

No... But doing a pacman -Syu, I see that there's a new version of the xorg server out.

Weird....

I was messing around with kdm/slim ... xmodmap just stopped working ....

have updated things are ok now  :?  must have been something I did
