<module-echo-cancel> always creates a mono sink

Hey guys. I created a echo-cancel sink as described in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … ancelation

Now I recognised that my headphones dont distinguish between left and right. I checked it with pacmd list-sinks and the sink is configured to mono.

I tried to set the channels and the channel_map with the options as shown here: https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Softwa … #index45h3
After restarting PulseAudio it still was set to mono. Just the use_master_format option set the channels and the mapping to stereo, but than there was no difference between the sound with and without sink.

Any suggestions?

Re: <module-echo-cancel> always creates a mono sink

try when you create the echo-cancel sink to use

format=s24-32le channels=2

do check in pacmd list-sinks under sample spec what sample your sinks use by default (for me it is s32le)

also you can try using

use_master_format=true

this might also work but never tried it myself
