Today I noticed that LibreOffice (fresh or still doesn't seem to matter) didn't show my network printer in it's printing dialog anymore. Only a "Generic Printer" was available.
Downgrading cups and libcups from v. 2.2.4-1 to v. 2.2.3-1 solved the problem for me.
Does anybody else experience the same? Is this a known bug (I couldn't find anything related on Arch Linux' bug tracker)?

Make sure you install the package gtk3-print-backends. It is now required for printing in gtk programs.

gtk3-print-backends is already installed on my machine.

Same problem here.
gtk3-print-backends is already installed and I could see my printer in firefox but not in libreoffice or okular (which does not need gtk3-print-backend to my knowledge).
Downgrading cups and libcups solved the problem. So I think this is an issue related to cups.
What is strange is that, despite my printer was configured in localhost:631, it did not appear in libreoffice and okular before I downgrade cups (only generic printer).
I have reported a bug (FS#54695): https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/54695

Hello,
Same problem here but installing a2ps package (+ deleting and re-adding printer in CUPS + restart) has fixed the problem on my system.
Edit: on another system, this "solution" doesn't work

Having network printer missing from print in any application wanting it, with 2.2.4-2. In localhost:631, it is listed the printer is up, but not listed in applications, so it can't be used. On multiple machines. Only thing shown is print to file.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
Look ma, no mouse.

Having the same sort of issue lately (printer in CUPS, test page works, printer doesn't show in evince, doesn't work from browser) but with a USB HP 1020 printer.
