Hey all,
I am very new to arch linux but not so new to linux at all. Tried to set up mtp working together with my smartphone but somehow it does not work after a long time of trying. I read several articles about connecting it to my PC but none of them worked for me (jmtpfs, simple-mtpfs, gmtp, go-mtpfs, gvfs-mtp). I am always getting an error which I cannot do anything with. The first time i try connecting via mtpfs from commandline is like this:
lars@eljoth etc]$ mtpfs /home/lars/android

This is when the phone asks me to accept the connection for the first time after connecting it via cable.
When I just do it once again without reconnecting, i am getting this error:
[lars@eljoth etc]$ mtpfs /home/lars/android

As already said, I don't know what to do with this 6PTP_ERROR_IO. There is no difference in trying it via sudo. I would appreciate your help.
Further information: I am using gnome, if I forgot anything, I will do my best to give answer.
Many thanks in advance eljoth / Lars
EDIT: OK, I found out, that I only have this problem while running Banshee.

Probably as designed then, the wonders of the MTP protocol allow only one transaction at a time and there's a good chance that banshee hogs a device in such a way that it is inaccessible to other programs. This is a bug in banshee at best, but likely to be one of the many limitations of the MTP protocol...

Hi all,
Having the same issue using mtpfs.
@eljoth
Did you solve your problem?
Model: Zenfone 3 (ZE552KL)
#mtpfs -o allow_other ~/mnt
Thanks!

Please pay attention to the dates, this thread is nearing a year old, with a solution found which is to not have multiple applications trying to access the MTP device. Please open your own thread on the issue, with further details. Necro-Bumping is frowned upon here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … bumping.22
Closing.
