[SOLVED] Why does my cursor vary in size in different programs?

Hey all,
    Recently I've noticed that my mouse varies in size across different applications. I'm using I3wm, and the most recent kernel. Bellow is an animation to illustrate my issue.

The left is firefox, the top right is thunar, and bottom left is OSBuddy (Java)

Not sure what other information would be helpful, so please let me know if more information can be provided. And thank you to anyone that is able to help.

Re: [SOLVED] Why does my cursor vary in size in different programs?

I have tried the following with no success.

~/.Xresources

Xcursor.theme: Vanilla-DMZ
Xcursor.size: 16

~/.xinitrc

#!/bin/sh
#
# ~/.xinitrc
#
# Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
xmodmap -e 'clear Lock' -e 'keycode 0x42 = Escape'
xmodmap -e 'keycode 104 = Return'

if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ] ; then
 for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/?*.sh ; do
  [ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
 done
 unset f
fi

exec i3
xrdb ~/.Xresources

Re: [SOLVED] Why does my cursor vary in size in different programs?

I fixed this, the xrdb command needed to go before exec i3.
