I have archlinux with gnome on my laptop. Sometimes when the screen goes off automatically, I cannot wake it up (But it has not gone into sleep state). This only happens when my laptop is on battery but I cannot reproduce it every time.
The problem is when I boot the machine again, I cannot find anything wrong in `journalctl -p err -r`.
Can anyone give me a clue where should I look to find the cause?

nvidia? hdmi?
Please provide your xorg log and see whether this also happens when entering DPMS from a "naked" X11 server (startx to an xterm or similar)

The workaround (boot with i915.enable_rc6=0) works. However, this is not a real solution because it affects battery life.
