Hi,
I am trying to get (multilib) lib32-nvidia-utils installed with nvidia-settings so I can use steam. (I have a GTX 1050Ti).
Before I install the drivers, screenfetch shows "GPU: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti" and after installing the 2 package drivers plus steam, screenfetch shows "GPU: nouveau" which is wrong because its not my graphics card nor the driver I want??
Also when I uninstall all my video drivers and do a lspci -v it shows under VGA for my graphics card: Kernel driver in use: nouveau
I just want to uninstall any video related driver and install lib32-nvidia-utils, nvidia-settings and steam but am running into this driver problem, I do not want to use legacy or open source drivers and want to verify which ones are used and use nvidia-settings for settings. I am open to any other opinions if this is not the perfered way.

Screenfetch is a screenshot tool, not a system diagnostic one.
Paste the output of `lspci -v` and your full pacman log.
Moving to NC...

Yeah was aware of screenfetch as a screenshot tool which is why I used lspci -v in my original post and by pacman log do you want me to do a query of all my packages?, I believe I have uninstalled nvidia video drivers now but still have steam installed (which steam does load properly), what should be my next recommended steps for getting latest nvidia drivers and nvidia settings panel?
lspci -v:

pacman -Q

Thanks very much for your help

No, your pacman log
Yes you've uninstalled nvidia, so there's no magic in ending up with the nouveau drivers.
You've the linux and the linux-lts kernels installed any I guess your driver problems stem from there, but that's just wild guessing w/o access to what actually happened...

uname -r
pacman -Qs nvidia

I'm confused by your pacman output. you said that was after installing lib32-nvidia-utils, but there are neither nvidia, not anything lib32 related for nvidia. I'm very curious what happened in your pacman log.

Ok so I've installed "lib32-nvidia-utils" for steam, but it's still not recognising my video driver, I am getting 20fps in csgo, steam, when I have a GTX1050ti. could someone help?

Because you installed nvidia-utils and lib32-nvidia-utils but not the actual module package for either kernel...
Please read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA

Ok, I feel retarded now, I uninstalled all video drivers as I wanted to start clean, and installed "lib32-nvidia-utils" but I was supposed to also install "nvidia" which I didn't. I thought nvidia would of came as a dependancy if I installed lib32-nvidia-utils?? I was looking at this wiki article thinking I was supposed to install ONE of packages from the matrix table below. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xo … stallation
I have also installed "nvidia-settings" too, I am now getting the proper frame rate in games. If anyone else as suggestions for video packages I should install please advise.
