Hi all,
I have installed Arch on my laptop not too long ago. In office, the internet connection has proxy and I did not configure system wide proxy as I will be using non-proxy connection when I am home.
I have set the proxy settings in firefox and dropbox itself, all the while has been working fine. But since few days back, I could not get my firefox and dropbox connect through proxy (I have only these two applications that need internet connection). If I boot into my windows partition, connection is fine. If I am using non-proxy connection, these two are also working fine.
I could not recalled what have I done to my system, all I could remember is that a week ago, I was trying to set proxy system wide, but I have also unset all parameters afterwards. So I am not too sure why this happens.
Is there any way to "restore" the original proxy setting? or check if any file/settings I have edited?
Thanks so much for the help!
Regards,
chew

How exactly did you set the proxy settings for Firefox and Dropbox?
Moving to NC.

Firefox is under option -> advance -> network and then the proxy details.
Dropbox also similar, under preference -> proxy and then the details.

What is the error message you get when trying to connect through the proxy? Can you try that proxy with wget, curl, etc.
