Knoppix-like bootable stick with audio software

Hi All,

I have a midi via USB keyboard, this works fine with Ardour in AVlinux, but I can't run AVlinux from an USB stick with persistent storage, and I like arch better than ubuntu/debian.

So I would like to create a bootable stick that can do knoppix-style detection of the hardware, boot into a graphical desktop, and has the tweaks needed for low-latency audio. My end goal is to write a page in the wiki that describes this procedure.

I have found the following information:
http://valleycat.org/foo/arch-usb.html?i=1 ArchLinux USB
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … _a_USB_key
https://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopi … 19&t=10837  Lowlatency on ArchBang

My questions:
Has this already been done?
Am I going in the correct direction?
What should the resulting wiki page be called?

Cheers,
Cedric

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Archiso

Be careful though, some of the sections on these pages are marked out of date.

Thanks Adesh,
I'll see if the links you have provided still work, and update as needed.

It looks like somebody else had the same Idea with mixxx instead of ardour:

I have created an initial wiki page here:
