Hello,
I'm running Arch in the PC on the institute I work. The ITs are freaking out with all the ransomware story and pushing everyone to increase security.
I have installed clamav and is working nice but I would like to activate the real time scan option. I have never compiled a kernel and it is not obvious to me how to compile the fanotify module. I'm wondering if one of the many precopiled kernels have this module already present.
I'm sorry for this very basic question but I could not find the answer looking in the packages descriptions.
Regards, jose.

It is already enabled, but I really don't think that this shows itself as a module.

Thanks a lot!!! Silly question indeed....
I was posting it because it was said on the arch clamav wiki that this should be enabled. I didn't know it was enabled by default.
Closing this.
Have a good day.

your current kernel should. to check:
zgrep FANOT /proc/config.gzedit: useless use of zcat ![]()
