Switch language bug in GNOME

Hello!
I use ArchLinux about 4 years, I also make regular update("pacman -Suy"). I use GNOME desktop environment.
I am from Russia and use 2 language: Russian and English. Until recently time this work properly. But last time I notice follow bug in language switch.
After system boot language switch work in several program(in GNOME application search, in Terminal, in GNOME File Manager), but language switch not work in other applications(in Opera, Mozilla, in Emacs).
I found a way fix that: open Settings->Region & Language, remove Russian from Input Source list, and then add Russian in that list again. After that all work fine.
But what I can do, that language switch work without this fix after system boot?
Thank you for all answered.

Re: Switch language bug in GNOME

What's your locale.conf? Maybe it is somehow conflicting with Gnome's language settings.
Do you have the same issue in both X and wayland?

Re: Switch language bug in GNOME

Hello, thank you for answer.

File /etc/locale.conf contain:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8

But I don't understand, how file locale.conf may conflict with GNOME settings?

For your second question. I don not know, which program use wayland, and which program use X. In my system installed xorg-server and xorg-server-wayland. I know, that GNOME use wayland, but I don't know about Emacs or Opera.

Re: Switch language bug in GNOME

My idea was that maybe some applications take your locale settings from locale.conf, and some from Gnome. You could test this by switching to russian locale in locale.conf, and see if that fixes your issue.

You can start gnome in either X or wayland. You should try if the issue persists on both. See wiki for how.

Some applications support wayland natively, and some only work on X. When you start application that doesn't support wayland on wayland shell, it gets started in XWayland server. I was thinking that maybe the issue occurs only with XWayland applications or vice versa.

None of that may not help, but I'd suggest you to try to find some common nominator with the applications that have this issues or those that don't.
