[Solved] Polybar and Fonts

I'm having some issues with Polybar and fonts and was hoping someone could point out what I am doing incorrectly.

I have three different fonts listed in my Polybar config file, and I am inserting the relevant unicode strings into Vim when editing. All the correct unicode characters show up in Vim, but when running Polybar nothing shows up. Below is the relevant sections of the config:

[bar/Bar]
fixed-center = true

border-size = 0
border-bottom-size = 0
border-color = $00000000

width = 100%
height = 25

offset-x = 0%
offset-y = 0%
radius = 0.0

enable-ipc = false

modules-left = i3 xwindow
modules-center = date
modules-right = wlan battery1 battery0
tray-position = right
tray-padding = 10
tray-transparent = false

font-0 = Terminus:size=10;0
font-1 = FontAwesome:size=10;0
font-2 = material-wifi:size=10;0

background = ${xrdb:color0}
foreground = ${xrdb:color7}[module/i3]
type = internal/i3
format = <label-state>
index-sort = true
strip-wsnumbers = true

ws-icon-0 = 1;
ws-icon-1 = 2;
ws-icon-2 = 3;三
ws-icon-3 = 4;四
ws-icon-4 = 5;五
ws-icon-5 = 6;六

label-focused = [%icon%]
;label-focused = %index%
;label-focused-background = ${colors.gray}
label-focused-padding = 0

label-unfocused = %number%
;label-unfocused = %index%
label-unfocused-padding = 1
;label-unfocused-background = ${colors.black}
label-unfocused-underlinde = ${colors.white}

.............

[module/wlan]
type = internal/network
interface = wlp3s0
interval = 3.0

format-connected-padding = 2
format-disconnected-padding = 1

format-connected = <ramp-signal> <label-connected>
format-connected-underline = ${colors.white}
format-disconnected-underline = ${colors.gray}

label-connected = %essid%
label-disconnected = 
label-disconnected-foreground = ${colors.gray}

ramp-signal-0 = 
ramp-signal-1 = 
ramp-signal-2 = 
ramp-signal-3 = 

Here is what it looks like:

Using Polybar-git from the AUR and i3-gaps.

Any ideas?

Re: [Solved] Polybar and Fonts

One idea. If you look at the output of "fc-list | grep Terminus" you'll see it's listed as "xos4 Terminus" and I think you need exactly that in your font-0 line.

font-0 = xos4 Terminus:size=10;0

You can check your other fonts. Maybe it'll help, maybe not smile

Re: [Solved] Polybar and Fonts

What unicode characters are you using there?  As far as I can see your font awesome icons (see battery icons) and terminus (normal font) seem to work. That you can see the characters in vim does mean you have installed the correct font, but not set in polybar.

Re: [Solved] Polybar and Fonts

Yeah you were both correct. The fonts were not being called in Polybar that contained the proper unicode glyphs. I was surprised though as I use 'Hack' in my terminal, but yet that didn't work for the unicode glyphs on the Polybar. I got it working, however, with the following fonts:

font-0 = xos4 Terminus:size=12;0
font-1 = FontAwesome:size=10;0
font-2 = material\-wifi:size=10;0
font-3 = Koruri,Koruri Regular:size=7;0

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
