How run Windows executable files on linux?

You want to investigate a program called wine. It doesn't work for all exes though. You're usually better off finding native linux programs that do the same thing as the windows programs you are interested in. this is generally possible and often the linux programs are higher quality. However some applications, especially games, are underrepresented in linux.

If you do go with wine, I highly recommend using winetools to set it up. It makes it very easy.

And if you can't find an alternative native program or wine doesn't work for you, you can try emulators like qemu and vmware.
They allow you to create virtual pc's that can run many operating systems.
(i am currently studying for MCSE 2000, and have several w2k servers and xp clients set up to do help practicing the exercises.
Those systems are running as vmware virtual machines on an archlinux box.)
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
