Broken Pacman - stuck at kernel 4.11.6 [SOLVED]

I believe something is wrong with my package manger - It says it's up to date, but it clearly is not. I've been stuck on 4.11.6 for ages now, and I know the kernel is up to at least 4.12.4.

(full uname -a output for those that want it: 4.11.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jun 17 08:19:42 CEST 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux)

sudo pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
multilib is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: taskcoach: installing python2-twisted (17.5.0-1) breaks dependency 'twisted'

Taskcoach is a gnome program I installed awhile ago when I was looking for a good task manager, so that is what it is referring to. (I'm running kde, so I had to get the gnome libraries for it to work, too)

Any ideas how to resolve the issue so that it will actually update?

I am a bit of a noob, so sorry if this seems like it is a simple fix.

Re: Broken Pacman - stuck at kernel 4.11.6 [SOLVED]

Please provide the output of

pacman -Q linux

EDIT: I read your post a bit too quickly, didn't spot the error message from your pacman output. Please use code tags for such output in the future.

In any case, you are not upgrading at all since the upgrade is prevented by the dependecy issue caused by Taskcoach. As taskcoach is an AUR package, it is your responsibility to maintain it. I would suggest uninstalling it for now so that you can perform the system upgrade.

Uninstall Taskcoach.  Update your system.  Try to reinstall Taskcoach.

Re: Broken Pacman - stuck at kernel 4.11.6 [SOLVED]

Hey guys, issue resolved. I had forgotten that I got it from AUR, and not pacman, I should have thought of that earlier. Big thank you to Daerandin for figuring it out, and to everyone else who posted their input.

I just removed taskcoach and then did the update. Obviously it was fairly large considering how long it had been since it actually updated, glad it didn't brick up.

Taskcoach may still work, it could be that it simply requires a rebuild. If not, then you may wish to look at the comments for the AUR package.
