i installed arch on the subject machine. I used the macbook12-spi driver in the aur and after some trial and error was able to get the keyboard, backlight, and trackpad working.
But i could not get the sound or the the bluetooth to work.
The sound is snd-hda-intel with cirrus chip cs4208. i tried every model alsa lists for the chipset, and a number of suggestions i found from googling. nothing works. in pavucontrol i can see sound registering, but nothing is heard from the speakers. alsamixer shows nothing muted. the alsa sound speaker test has no error but no sound is played. i followed the suggestions in the wiki but nothing helped.
on the bluetooth i get bcm2e7c invalid platform data failed with -22.
any suggestions to solve these two would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
