A mistake made at the last step

what if I Pull out USB(USB flash installation media) swiftly after typing "reboot" but didn't wait aminute?
the sys just  rebooting and the screan didn't get dark and the POWER LED still bright. However, I pulled out the usb.
So the system cannot continue shutdown and I had to force shutdown.
Luckily,it still works and it seems no problem with the new os.
but as I think, if there is something didn't  write to disk from memory in time? Or if there is some task that arch wasn't able to make it because of my stupid operation?

If you can boot into Arch, then you have completed the installation.

Not an Installation issue, moving to NC.

Hey Xuwenjun,

Did you use the extended file system?
If yes then the journalling should take care of most unfinished operations.
Unless you are modifying files the files should have been written to disk.

Thanks for your reply!
I use ext4 and I do find that some files should exist are missing.
However, we could edit them by ourselves in Linux with ArchWiki. big_smile
Maybe it goes fine after next update. XD

Which files are you missing?

xuwenjun,  Welcome to the Arch Linux forums.   If you are wondering where your post went, you hit the 'report' link instead of the 'reply' link.  Only the moderators saw your first attempt wink

I've seen installations where the machine does not power off at the end of the shutdown after installation. Probably nothing to worry about; does the poweroff work when you boot from your installation?

I'm so so so sorry!! I've confused "Report" with "Reply". And the poweroff works fine:D

Some conf files [...]

Often config files in the home directory don't exist by default, even when they're listed as being checked by a program in its man page.  When this is the case, you usually have to copy the systemwide configuration file (usually in /etc) to the desired location and make your edits.
