Ok,so this might seem weird but i couldn't find a better word so let me describe it, you know when you click on the pulseaudio plugin on a panel a menu appears (BTW: I call that the pop-up menu just because i don't really have a proper word for it) with sliders to adjust the volume well those sliders aren't working and it isn't a system wide thing either i mean if i open the settings and there is a slider i can adjust that slider but for some reason when i try to adjust the sliders of any "pop-up menu" it disappears (Note: i put quotes around pop-up menu because as i said i'm not sure how to call them),so i looked around on the forums but couldn't find anything so i decided to post this here because i tried reinstalling xorg, downgrading gtk, but it didn't seem to make a difference,so can anybody help me; if anyone needs more info about the system please ask.

Sounds like your theme is broken.

I don't think it's the theme i mean the issue just appeared recently and i didn't do anything to the theme, but i tried switching themes in the control panel anyway to see if it would make a difference but i don't think it worked and i mean the sliders worked before with the same theme i have now so i don't know.

I see the same problem but I wouldn't have noticed if someone didn't point it out. I suppose it should not be a theme problem, I've been using a theme from the mate-themes package exactly because many other themes are broken in some way (and I don't like adwaita).

Adjusting the slider by using the scroll wheel does work, which is what I use mostly on the panel items that have pop-up menus.

Sounds as if that "popup" confuses this as an external click (maybe because the slider is a nested X window?) and closes in return (what popups tend to do)

For a very wild guess and because gtk3's input handling is FUBAR, try exporting GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 to the shell that launches the panel or plugin

Ok so i don't really know what you mean by the shell that launches the panel or plugin but here is what i did i logged out of x to the main tty session typed "export GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1" without the quotes and then i started x again but that didn't seem to make a change here's a gif of how it behaves:

BTW:Close to the end of the gif i demonstrated how i can use touch pad gestures to control the slider,the touchpad gesture i used is the zoom gesture which basically mimics a scroll wheel.

Note: This also happens with other pop-up menus like pulseaudio it just was more convenient to make a gif of this one.
I don't know if i followed seth's instructions correctly, can anybody explain how to do them correctly if i got them wrong(BTW: I also tried other themes with what the GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 thingy).

Confirm. Sliders react only on mousewheel motion. I'm using CobiBird theme. Tick/Untick "Mute sound output" and "Mute sound input" work.

Looks like i'm not the only one i mean because this thing with the sliders is quite recent i assume it was an update that most people got and that's why the sliders don't work but which update i mean i downgraded gtk to the lowest version i can go with no luck so what could it be.

When I try to increase the volume in xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin it closes by itself. I can to increase the volume with a mouse wheel only. What's wrong? This has not happened before.

Hey everyone, the bug has been solved with the latest gtk update,all you have to do is update gtk and everything should be fine,at least it works for me now after the update,so i'm marking this thread as closed.
