Hi! For those who have Fluxbox, is it possible to create a submenu from the menu, that contains all currently running applications from all or certain workspace?

Not a Fluxbox user myself but with a quick scan of the fluxbox-keys man page I found ClientMenu which I think does what you want. http://fluxbox.org/help/man-fluxbox-keys.php

I think he wants to alter the client menu itself, but that's not possible (unlike the root menu and the window menu, this one's hardcoded)
Also see https://sourceforge.net/p/fluxbox/feature-requests/260/
What however is indeed possible is to create "some menu", include the client menu and bind "some menu" to a mouse click or shortcut.

Yep, ClientMenu is the thing, unfortunately it closes the regular menu and open another containing what is specified in parameters, not in a submenu which is what I looking for. ![]()
Opens a menu that contains all windows. If you specify a pattern, only matching windows will be in the menu. Selecting a window will jump to that workspace and raise the window. See CLIENT PATTERNS below for more details on the pattern argument.
~/.fluxbox/menu

Yeah, that's an action. "[workspaces] (Workspaces)" would get you the full workspace menu, but as mentioned that's not configurable (atm)

Is this achievable by using another Window Manager e.g. Openbox?

No idea, never tried.
What would work for pretty much sure is to build the menu dynamically ie.
- a script using wmctrl or xdotool to search for inconified windows and write them into a menu file (with wmctrl/xdotool calls to activate the window)
- include the menufile in the fluxbox menu
- trigger the script with the fluxbox menu
