As the title says, Arch linux refuses to detect the ethernet port (and wireless device) on my motherboard. It worked fine when I was on the install image from the USB stick, but as soon as I booted I lost all internet connection. lspci -v does not tell me what kernel module(s) to load, and ip link only shows lo as an interface. Normally I'd just systemctl start dhcpcd@en[something] and be done with it, but I need to load the kernel modules. What modules do I need to load?

How about starting the install medium again and checking what modules were used while connection worked there?

Ok, I'll see what I can do with lsmod. Will update if I found anything.

UPDATE: modprobe thinks I'm running linux 4.12.3, when I'm actually running linux 4.12.8. What happened?

Have you restarted your system after upgrading the kernel?

And now it thinks I'm running linux 4.9 LTS because I had solus on this partition previously.

How did you install Arch Linux?
I possess a device, in my pocket, that is capable of accessing the entirety of information known to man.
I use it to look at funny pictures of cats and to argue with strangers.
