links browser -- syntax for config file?

So, when running the `links` browser, it creates the `~/.links` folder, but not the `~/.links/links.cfg` configuration file. No problem, I just created the file myself, and was trying to set the `-html-numbered-links 1` option. To no avail: I always get a message saying the config syntax is wrong (no matter what variations I try: removing the dash, putting double dashes, etc...). I tried searching, but what I can find on that config file is actually exceedingly little. So I thought to ask here (assuming there's anyone left that does this sort of weird thing like web browsing through a console tongue)

Thanks in advance.
