It's like I have a grossly setup equalizer, everything sounds echoed and thin, no bass.
These are my sound devices (I don't know which I'm using if there's even a difference) :
[me@archlinux 0000:00:1b.0]$ lspci -vv | grep -i audio
00:03.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller (rev 06)
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05)
These are the drivers I found:
[me@archlinux 0000:00:1b.0]$ sudo find /sys | grep driver.*1b.0
/sys/bus/pci/drivers/snd_hda_intel/0000:00:1b.0
[me@archlinux 0000:00:1b.0]$ sudo find /sys | grep driver.*03.0
/sys/bus/pci/drivers/snd_hda_intel/0000:00:03.0
/sys/bus/hid/drivers/hid-generic/0003:046D:C077.0001
/sys/bus/acpi/drivers/ac/ACPI0003:00
On Windows I have Realtek HD Audio Manager installed. Couldn't find a linux version.

Both of these outputs are pretty useless as they stand, let's try to figure out some more relevant information. Post while playing
aplay -lL
amixer -c$cardindex from aplay -l$
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs
pulseaudio --dump-conf
