Issue with ath10k on PCI

Hi all, using two identical hardware...

1) Linux 4.1.9-1 and ath10k_pci firmware ver 10.2.4.70.54 are working fine

2) Linux 4.12.3-1 and ath10k_pci firmware ver 10.2.4.70.63-2 are crashing with the following dmesg output:

Re: Issue with ath10k on PCI

There is no link, because the ath10k developpers want to work with a mailing list:

https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/use … 0k/support

I think that the new release will be avalibale here:

https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware

And the purpose will be to include it in a new linux-firmware relase that will be be available in the ArchLinux.

Re: Issue with ath10k on PCI

There is no link, because the ath10k developpers want to work with a mailing list:

Mailing lists have archives that can be accessed through  a browser.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: Issue with ath10k on PCI

The issue that I described was exactly on the same PCI board: WLE600VX.
As said before, the issue has been forwarded to the dev team by the ath10k driver team leader:

Re: Issue with ath10k on PCI

It has been a while but the latest linux-firmware (20170907.a61ac5c-1) still contains a bad firmware.

For now I simply put firmware-5.bin_10.2.4.70.66 in /usr/lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA988X/hw2.0 and replaced firmware-5.bin with a symlink to firmware-5.bin_10.2.4.70.66
