I've been getting this compile error for some time now. I thought it would iron itself out after a while, but its still there.

Looks like same error as in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=229303 .
latex2man comes from texlive-core , is your system uptodate ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)
