Arch box making connections to archlinux.org

Not sure why.. but my main arch box makes continuous connections to archlinux.org on port 80 with no user input
on this end. No browser etc... This connection is not being made within the vpn, but rather outside the vpn.

Just wondering why?

For testing I blocked (blacklisted) 138.201.81.199 (archlinux.org) and the box has not had the connections being made since.
However I cannot get to the site on 80 or 443 either. I have a program loaded called https everywhere and never
connect to port 80 via the browser unless need be. And the connections were being made without a browser connection.

In terms of connecting for upgrades, with archlinux.org blocked, I can still do upgrades via pacman, connect to wiki, forum etc..
and all connections are rightfully connecting through the vpn.

Any reason for the box to continually try to connect to archlinux.org or vice versa?

Thanks!

Re: Arch box making connections to archlinux.org

NetworkManager uses this to check connection availability. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … nnectivity
