[SOLVED] Heroes of Newerth

I play this game... several times I needed to downgrade a library (ie: harfbuzz harfbuzz-icu cairo) so it works, but that may break or leave a hole somewhere else.

So is there a way, to keep different libraries for this instance?

From the makers, I am asking them the same question.

Re: [SOLVED] Heroes of Newerth

I am marking this solved.

What I did was:
(a) find the error that was causing the game not to load (via the journalctl command)
(b) downgraded that package until it worked.
Ie: harfbuzz  (libharfbuzz)
(c) after downgrading, copied that library libharfbuzz.so.0  (from /usr/lib/ to the subdirectory libs-x86_64 inside the HoN directory.
(d) then upgraded back to current version of harfbuzz.

worked for me.

PS - I did this also for cairo (as that was causing issues after last pacman update)

Then I pacman upgraded back to the current harfbuzz package and also the cairo package.
The old libraries that work for HoN are now in the HoN libary directory.
