Project Sunrise

I am reading about Project Sunrise

Wondered if its similar to AUR in as much as users contribute builds?

Or have they just ripped off AUR for themeselves

Re: Project Sunrise

Indeed. Which is quite an accomplishment for Archlinux smile.

Re: Project Sunrise

The AUR is already good, and already quite an accomplishment, don't you think? Without any imitation/approval/whatever from Gentoo, or any other distro.

Re: Project Sunrise

Like the AUR.... but different.

The overlays' ebuilds need to meet a certain QA level and commits are watched by gentoo devs.

it's moderated. the AUR is semi-moderated, with packages flagged safe or not.

maybe some sort of method to easily access safely marked packages would be good. Though we've already go this in the countless programs available that scrape the AUR.

Re: Project Sunrise

I think .... svn/cvs  should be separate just to give users the option to run foo package or very bleeding edge ..

just my thoughts ...
