Hello, I'd like to do a fresh install of arch at my desktop which has an HDD and an SSD. Right now my partition scheme looks like this:
#The HDD Drive
sda 8:0 0 596.2G 0 disk
├─sda1 8:1 0 92.6G 0 part
└─sda2 8:2 0 503.6G 0 part
#The SSD Drive
sdb 8:16 0 111.8G 0 disk
├─sdb1 8:17 0 1G 0 part
└─sdb2 8:18 0 110.8G 0 part
So on sdb1 I intended to use it as the boot partition and sdb2 as root (/, /home, /usr) and swap, sda1 was intended to be used for a windows installation and last on sdb2 I wanted to have /var, /tmp and /media/data. As stated on the subject I want an FDE but I'm stuck. I read about having two seperate LUKS containers one for each drive and then inside each one an LVM and also having a keyfile on the sdd so I don't have to enter two different passphrases on boot for accesing the drives. Also is it possible to work my way around with btrfs as the file system and make use of the btrfs subvolumes.
Thank you in advance.
P.S. I am using a non-UEFI system

Welcome to the forums borbaszorbas
No need for a separate /boot or /var partition, and /tmp is already mounted as tmpfs.
Personally I'd use just 1 partition on the SSD for /, and 1 large partition on the HD for /mnt/data.
No problem with using btrfs or luks, just follow the wiki.
