syncing pacman to cd db

ok, im scratching my head here... i'm at work. installed arch from the full cd (not base)
and now im trying to install packages from cd. ( i dont want to connect to lan)

i added this to pacman :

[cd]
Server = file:///mnt/cd/arch/pkg

the cd is mounted... when i pacman -Sy it says it could not open the sync database : cd

i even commented out current and extra.  what am i doing wrong : )

i think what i'll try doing is copying all the packages from cd to my home and running gensync...
