Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

I add
[shadowhand]
Server = http://arch.os-zen.net/pkg/shadowhand

to my pacman.conf

And I do pacman -Sy
And then:
[root@procyon temp]# pacman -S xgl-cvs
error: unresolvable dependencies:
xgl-cvs: requires fixesproto>=4.0 but it is not in the sync db

[root@procyon temp]# pacman -S compiz-cvs
compiz-cvs: not found in sync db

What gives? They are obviously in the repo

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

its some bug.
just download the compiz-cvs package manualy (try wget)
and use pacman -A package-filename

I think you can get fixesproto 4.0.1 from the testing repo

You can get sounds back if you install sox, then use run command for the sound option, and use play %s.  It should play sounds now.

i think you can also use "aplay %s" instead, if you already have alsa installed.

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

Once again, I'm no longer compiling/support XGL packages (compiz, fixesproto, xgl-cvs, mesa-xgl-cvs, etc). Please don't post questions about them.

shadowhand: why is libxfce4util-svn still depending on glib and not glib2?
i thought you said you would fix that..

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

Who's compiling and releasing the compiz and XGL sources ? I had installed the packages from this repo:

[shadowhand]
Server = http://arch.os-zen.net/pkg/shadowhand

By the way, gaim-svn has some problems.. I can't be opened..Any one has the same ?

Question about xfmedia

When I click on a streaming radio url in the playlist, it plays for a second then stops. I have to hit the space bar to get it playing again. This happens all the time for me - anyone else experience this?

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

Thunar's dependency on FAM seems to have been dropped again... This would all be well and good if Thunar could work without FAM, but it can't start up if libfam isn't present.

(Is there a way of recompiling it with optional FAM support? As of right now support for inotify has been implemented, unless I'm very wrong, so maybe there's a compile option that would free it of the libfam requirement.)

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

afaik benny doesn't want to implement support for inotify because (he said) inotify is linux only and he wants a solution that is not only available for linux so he uses fam or (what he recommends:) gamin.
since gamin has been removed from the arch testing repo and won't return because some arch devs think since gnome-vfs (which uses inotify) for example is available, there is no need for gamin and want to stick with fam.

the point is: there is no inotify support in thunar at this time (just checked the last svn logs in case i missed sth you mentioned) and according to benny, there won't be inotify support in thunar either.
so fam it is for arch + thunar..

Alright... In that case though someone on the XFCE dev team should probably take up maintainance of Gamin, since it's currently unmaintained.

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

Since last update (thunar-svn 22199-1), trying a detailed view in thunar makes it to crash. However, downgrading it to previous version (thunar-svn 22133-1) doesn't solve the problem. This didn't happen with that version. So, i guess it's not thunar's pkg the one responsible for the crash?

The console just gives a "Segmentation fault"

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

this crash happens because of gtk 2.10.
it was fixed in 22287, but the version in shadowhand's repo is 22199.

Is gtk 2.10 necessary to run the last versions of xfce-svn ?

Looks like not, I'm running thunar-svn/terminal-svn from shadowhand's repository using the current repository (GTK 2.8), so...

Xfce 4.4 will depend on Gtk 2.6 or higher.

Missing dependency: thunar-media-tags-plugin-svn needs taglib (in extra) as a dependency.

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

Sorry about the delay with getting a new Xfce-svn compiled against GTK 2.10 out, but my mirror wasn't syncing correctly, and I didn't notice it until yesterday. I'll be updating today.

EDIT: Wait a second, 2.10 is still in Testing. I don't build things against Testing, so you Testing users are out of luck, unless stavrosg decides to revive his xfce-svn-testing repo.

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

Well, apart from the gtk-xfce-engine, nothing else reqiures rebuilding against gtk 2.10 to work properly.
And my time is really limited these days, so no, no xfce-svn-testing packages from me this time.

Re: Shadowhand's Devel Repo (Firefox, Gaim, Xfce, etc)

Repos have been updated.

The package thunar-media-tags-plugin-svn will have to reinstalled. It's partly my fault, but mostly an upstream maintainers fault. Reinstalling the package will actually upgrade it to a new version, and add proper taglib support.

Xfprint will now work with CUPS.

Opera-devel updated to 9.01, build 387.

How can I install the Firefox-devel version?

I try

pacman -S firefox-devel

but it works not

Have you tried to turn it off and on again?
