LOGGED IN. YAY! HOWEVER, the problem still persists. So,
Uninstalled nvidia (not nvidia-utils) from chroot.
Booted into installation. Darn null chars still there, but their frequency is much low (about 3 in 10 seconds).
After about 6 failures, I finally logged in.
Note: there are no more nulls being printed right now.
I'm kind of scared to log off.
Although I can provide the systemctl hooks now (which I couldn't do in the chrooted environment)
So what next?

Getting better! Yeah!
mesa?
But it is too early, let me first have a look at your package collection, which you provided us...
Edit:
I did, so mesa?
stay tenacious!
... and getting confused with my own posts, see side 1 of the thread :-)

Can't remove mesa as it is a dependency of libglvnd (which I remember choosing out of three choices, the others having nvidia in their names, while installing xorg)

I'd try removing libglvnd and mesa (and any other display related drivers).
If that "solves" the problem, it is of course not a long-term solution, but at least then we'd know exactly what needs fixing and we may even be able to start crafting a useful bug report for upstream.

pacman -Rns lxdm, xorg-server + dependencies.
Null char still gets printed when some program (like ping) prints anything to the screen. Notice the '^@' before 64 in this ping output: https://ibin.co/w800/3c3dBrfUviiU.jpg.

I'm staying tuned, but I have to help someone else privately now. Interesting photo!
I'll answer soon, stay tuned, too (few hours)...

fourty-two, it looks like this has now come up two more times very recently, and it looks like one of the threads has a potential solution:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1739030
Note the last post in the second link which looks like it has a solution.

You are logged in. Good!
As root! even better!
And there still is Trilby, desperately winking...
If you agree, let's sleep a little over it.

I had the exact same issue (on a Lenovo Ideapad 700 no less) and blacklisting input_polldev solved it, as mentioned in this thread:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1739030
Downgrading my kernel from 4.13.3-1-x86_64 to 4.12.8-2-x86_64 was also a possible work-around in my case.
I didn't find this thread (or that one) in my initial search, so the mod who linked me here encouraged me to post what worked for me since this still isn't marked as "solved."

I remember these symtoms coming up several times previously, but I struggled to find any of the relevant threads too - apparently search engines aren't to fond of symbols as their primary query (e.g., searching for "^@" and "^@" is dropped from the query).

I was this close to berate solsword for not searching the boards, but then noticed you can't really search for them But where are these randomly loaded kernel modules popping up from I wonder. I did notice something similar with the 4.12 kernel already, it loads ov5693 despite me not having any webcam whatsoever.

I did a lot of search before posting this issue, and I get my post deleted for not searching, but it doesn't matter anyway...

You fail to mention that I linked to this thread and the bug report in your thread; so it is not like it was closed and you were with nothing other than the bitter tears of resentment...
